After School Program
We provide a safe, enjoyable, and educational place for children to spend their time after school. The After School program provides homework help, a nutritious hot meal, and daily physical activity, as well as mentoring and guidance, to hundreds of children each day. Nearly 70% of these children live at or near the poverty level and attend at little or no cost.
Power Hour Homework Help
Power Hour helps Club members ages 6-18 achieve academic success by providing homework help, tutoring and high-yield learning activities, and by encouraging members to become self-directed learners.
Project Learn, for Club members ages 6-18, reinforces and enhances the skills and knowledge young people learn at school during the hours they spend at the Club. This comprehensive program strategy includes leisure reading, writing activities, discussions with knowledgeable adults, helping others, homework help and tutoring, and games like Scrabble that develop young people’s cognitive skills, and has been proven to boost the academic performance of Club members.
With staff guidance, Club members plant a vegetable garden, nurture it, reap the harvest and then help prepare healthy meals. Our herb and vegetable gardens produce fresh food for our kitchen.
Kid’s Café Nutrition Program
The Club provides a healthy, hot evening meal to more than 200 Club members daily, along with teaching healthy eating and nutrition to members and their families. We also send home backpacks of food on weekends to children and families in need.
Triple Play’s Healthy Habits
This program is designed to incorporate healthy living and active learning for ages 6-15 in every part of the Club experience, emphasizing good nutrition, regular physical activity and improving overall well-being.
For Club teens ages 13 to 18, this program guides young people in preparing for a career in Boys & Girls Clubs and/or other service professions. Through participation in Junior Staff, teens will develop interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic and a sense of community engagement.
