BGCNW 17th Annual Humanitarian Award Dinner

Mt. Kisco, NY (May 16, 2011) – The Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester's 17thannual Humanitarian Award Dinner honoring Holly and David Singer will be held on Saturday, June 4 at Lexus of Mount Kisco in Mount Kisco, NY, who is donating their green space for the event for the second year. The cocktail reception, which begins at 7:00 p.m., will be followed by a sit-down dinner. There will be an award presentation, live and silent auctions, and dancing. 

The theme for this year's dinner is "Get Smart, Get Involved," and Barbara Feldon, Agent 99 of the original Get Smart television series, will make a special guest appearance. Feldon will present the Club's 2011 Youth of the Year Award to Jason Distant of Mt. Kisco.  

The Club is taking fundraising efforts to the internet with an online auction that is now live. The auction, which accompanies the traditional gala, features hundreds of items ranging from gift cards, catering services, jewelry, sports tickets, travel packages, fitness and spa treatments, wine, fashion items, antiques and art, etc. A full list of auction items can be viewed on: www.biddingforgood.com/boysandgirlsclubnw. 

Billy Baldwin returns as this year's Auctioneer. When auctioneering for prior Humanitarian Dinners, Baldwin raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the Club. This year's items include a tour of Ralph Lauren's famous but rare car collection, a private cocktail party for 30 at Café of Love in Mt. Kisco, box seats to the NY Giants first home game, Chef's Tasting Menu at Crabtree's Kittle House, VIP tickets to the Martha Stewart Show with lunch in the Green Room, and more. 

This year's Humanitarian Award Dinner Co-Chairs are Muffin Dowdle of Pound Ridge and Renee Torre of South Salem. The Dinner's Sub-Committee Co-Chairs are Linda Mahon of Mt. Kisco, Seema Boesky of Mt. Kisco, Stacey Cohen of Mt. Kisco, Kat McKee of Stamford CT, and Bonnie Trotta of Mt. Kisco.

Last year's Humanitarian Dinner raised more than $300,000 for the Club's member programs and services. All proceeds from the event provide scholarships for children in need and support programs and services for the Club's 2,000 members, boys and girls ages 6 months to 18 years.
