BGCNW’s Golf Tournament on August 10th
Mt. Kisco, NY (July 21, 2010) – The Boys and Girls Club of Northern Westchester will hold its sixteenth annual Golf Tournament, sponsored by Marcela and Michael Berland, on Tuesday, August 10th, 2010 at GlenArbor Golf Club, Bedford Hills, NY. Proceeds generated from the tournament go directly towards the Club’s programs and services.
The golf tournament begins at 9:30 a.m. with registration, followed by a 10:00 a.m. lunch buffet. A shotgun start for the golfers will be at 12:00 p.m. After the tournament there will be cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, hand rolled cigars from La Casa Grande Tobacco Company, and a tequila tasting sponsored by Mount Kisco Wines & Spirits, followed by a buffet dinner at 4:30 p.m.
The awards presentation will be during dinner, along with an auction featuring great tickets and VIP items, including the NY Knicks "Ball Kid" Experience, "Be a Radio Comedy Star for a Night" with Howard Stern Show veteran Jackie Martling, sports tickets, golf foursomes at area courses, and more.
Brian Skanes, Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Club of Northern Westchester said he is pleased with the tournament’s growth. "We are extremely grateful for the continuing support of this community," he said. "Participating in or sponsoring the tournament is a great way to contribute to a worthy cause while having fun."
The Tournament will feature several Hole-in-One contests including a car sponsored by BMW of Mt. Kisco and a trip to Aruba sponsored by The Lien Resolution Group, along with Longest Drive and Closest-to-the-Pin contests. This year’s events will also include the first annual Boys & Girls Club Challenge. The inaugural event is open to the closest to the pin winners on each of the Par 3 holes, who will compete in a "chip off" onto the 18th green from the ridge outside the clubhouse.
The Golf Tournament Committee is chaired by Robert J. Levine and includes members: Steve Alvarado, Michael Berland, Steve Alvarado, Philip Bronzi, Lou Claytor, Bruce M. Cohen, John Crabtree, Terry Kramer, John New, Tom O’Neil, Bruce Orenstein, Peter Pauley, George Roach, Todd Rockefeller, Nick Scala, Jim Steets, and Michael Wolfensohn.
