Club Members Thank Spano For "Giving Them Back Their Summer"
Tarrytown, NY (6/23/06) — Club members at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Westchester Tarrytown site bestowed Westchester County Executive Andy Spano with cards and gifts to thank him for "giving them back their summer."
In mid-June, County Executive Spano secured a $100,000 grant from the Department of Social Services to fund the summer program at the Tarrytown Center.
The Club hopes to make the Tarrytown Center a long-term reality for the community and they are currently seeking additional funding and resources. The Club is working with the newly formed Tarrytown Center parent's group and governmental leaders including Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, Senator Charles Schumer, Assemblywoman Sandy Galef, and State Senator Nick Spano to preserve the Center.
