Newsroom ArchivesClub Appoints Mark Pavella As Site Director, Yorktown Center
Yorktown, NY (March 31, 2005) — The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Westchester has named Mark Pavella, Site Director, Yorktown Center. The announcement was made by Brian Skanes, Executive Director, The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Westchester, Mt. Kisco, NY. Pavella will be responsible for overseeing the Club's Yorktown Center and after-school program at the Yorktown Cultural and Community Center, Yorktown Heights, NY. Pavella has been with the Yorktown Center for seven years. He began as a youth member and has served as a staff member for the past three years. Since gaining his new post in late January, Pavella has already revived the Basketball League. Pavella said he made the revival his first goal because he recalls how much he enjoyed participating in the league. "The league also helps to bring communities together." Pavella said. "Youths from other communities will come to watch their friends play. It's a positive and fun experience for everyone." Skanes said he is impressed with what Pavella has accomplished in such a short time. "I look forward to seeing the Yorktown Club improve and expand its services under Pavella's great leadership," Skanes said. Pavella recently graduated Pace University with a BBA in Public Accounting and is currently attending graduate school at Pace to obtain a Master's degree in Secondary Education. Pavella is a resident of Mahopac, New York. |
